Augie's is located within a 1/2 mile of the San Antonio Zoo, and Japanese Tea Garden. You can't miss it with the flying pig logo! This is a counter service place, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is what you want a BBQ shack to look like. Lots of wood and cool retro decorations. There was plenty of indoor seating, and a nice outdoor space for your family to eat.

We came here for dinner after a fun day with family from out of town. It did not disappoint! Prices were good and portions were generous! All in our party were very happy with the various items we ordered. Our daughter is a discerning mac n cheese connoisseur and this is her licking her bowl clean after she ate all the noodles. We will be returning even when we don’t have family in town!

Was in the area and decided to give it a try. Ordered a brisket plate with beans and rice (recommend by the cashier). Inside was like a typical BBQ place with many eclectic signs and decorations. I sat down and in short time my order arrived at my table. The portions were nice and after a few bites I could taste and tell this was done right. The brisket was excellent, the beans were spicy just the way I like them, and the rice was like traditional Mexican rice. This plate came with 2 slices of bread, onions, pickles, a jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. Overall great place for BBQ.
